Organisational Setup of Electricity Department, Manipur

The Electricity Department functions with the Chief Engineer (Power) as Head of the Department. He is the Technical and Administrative Head and is responsible to the Government for planning, budgeting, execution, etc. in respect of the Department. Besides this he is responsible in co-ordinating the works of different circles and Divisions and giving guidance to the Officers of the Department.

In carrying out these activities the Chief Engineer (Power) is assisted by two Addl. Chief Engineers (Electrical), one Addl. Chief Engineer (Civil), eight Superintending Engineers on technical matters, one Administrative Officer, one Financial Adviser, one Labour Welfare Officer and one Engineering Officer. The Chief Engineer (Power) also functions as Chief Electrical Inspector & Executive Engineer (Inspectorate) as inspectorate to the state as per provisions under the Electricity Act 2003 and Rules made there under.

The Circles under the direct control of Chief Engineer (Power) are :

  1. Superintending Engineer (Planning & Design)
  2. Superintending Engineer (Hydel Investigation & Generation)

The Circles under the direct control of Addl. Chief Engineer (Power) are :

  1. Superintending Engineer (Transmission Circle)
  2. Superintending Engineer (Commercial )

The Circles under the direct control of Addl. Chief Engineer (Power)-II are :

  1. Superintending Engineer (Electrical Circle No.-I)
  2. Superintending Engineer (Electrical Circle No.-II)
  3. Superintending Engineer (Electrical Circle No.III)

The Circles under the direct control of Addl. Chief Engineer (Civil) are :
